Kjell Scherpen joined Albion from Ajax in July 2021.

The goalkeeper came through the youth ranks with FC Emmen in the Netherlands, making 36 first team appearances before signing for Ajax.

He spent two years at the Johan Cruyff arena before making the move to the Amex.

Kjell made his Albion debut in an FA Cup third round win over West Brom in January 2022, before joining Belgian side Oostende on loan for the second half of that season.

He returned to his homeland for the 2022/23 season, spending the campaign on loan with Vitesse Arnhem.

An incredibly fruitful two years in the Austrian Bundesliga with Sturm Graz followed, winning the back-to-back league titles, as well as the Goalkeeper of the Season award for the 2024/25 season.
