Fabian Hurzeler

Men's First-Team Head Coach

Fabian Hurzeler was appointed Albion manager in June 2024, signing a deal that runs until June 2027.

The German became the Premier League's youngest ever full-time manager when he took the job aged 31. Fabian arrived at the Amex after a successful stint in charge of German club St. Pauli, guiding the Hamburg based club from near the bottom of 2. Bundesliga to league winners in 2024.

The former midfielder initially joined St. Pauli in 2020 as assistant manager to Timo Schulz, but was appointed first team coach in December 2022 on an interim basis, before taking over permanently later that month. Fabian came through the youth ranks with Bayern Munich, representing their second team, as well as having stints with 1899 Hoffenheim II and FC Pippensreid.

With the latter, he took his first head coach role in 2016, alongside roles with Germany under-18s and under-20s.

Andrew Crofts

Men's First-Team Assistant Head Coach

Jonas joined us from German club Augsburg in July 2024.

He became assistant manager there in 2017 and he worked under seven different head coaches.

He previously spent ten years on the coaching staff of SV Waldeck-Obermenzing.

Andrew Crofts re-joined the club in July 2019 as player-coach in our men's under-21s, before taking over the under-21s head coach role following of Simon Rusk to Stockport County.

He was promoted to interim first team head coach after Graham Potter left for Chelsea in September 2022, before becoming first team coach under Roberto De Zerbi. He then became one of Fabian Hurzeler's assistant head coaches in August 2024.

The former Albion skipper enjoyed a playing career across all four top tiers in England, starting with Gillingham, before playing for Norwich City in the Premier League.

With the Seagulls, Crofts had two spells either side of his time with the Canaries, turning out for Albion 125 times and found the back of the net on 13 occasions.

He has also represented Wales on the international stage, making 29 caps at senior level. Alongside his role with Albion, Crofts is a part of the Wales coaching setup under Craig Bellamy.

Daniel Niedzkowski

Men's First-Team Assistant Head Coach

Daniel Niedzkowski joined Albion in January 2025.

Daniel was previously head of the German football federation’s coaches training programme where his former pupils included Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler.

He began his coaching career in 2012, working with Germany’s under-20 team before spending three years as assistant coach with Bayer Leverkusen.

During his time with Leverkusen they reached the Champions League three times between 2013-16.

In 2016, he took over as coach of Germany’s under-21 team and led them in 73 matches including the 2021 Olympic Games tournament in Tokyo.

Since 2018 he has become a highly respected coach educator with the German federation (DFB) as head of its UEFA Pro License Course and its technical director of coach education.
