Deputy chairman and chief executive Paul Barber has been shortlisted in the Football Business Trailblazer of the Year category at this year’s Women’s Football Awards.

The Women’s Football Awards are Britain's biggest celebration of women’s football and recognises the star names, businesses, brands and grassroots initiatives who do phenomenal work to grow the game.

The awards ceremony, hosted by former Chelsea, Juventus and England international Eni Aluko and former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher, will take place on Friday 30 May in London.

Paul was shortlisted following a series of nominations from people working across women’s football. He said, “I’m delighted and honoured to be shortlisted for this prestigious award

“I am very proud of my role as a non-executive director of Women in Football, which is about creating opportunities for women across the football world, within both men’s and women’s football.

“Helping the women’s game grow in this country is also a passion of mine, not least helping the growth of our own women’s professional set-up and our girls’ academy; and also on a personal level having two daughters who work in professional football

“These awards celebrate the achievement of many brilliant people working in the women’s game.”
