Elisabeth Terland celebrates after her dramatic record-breaking winner.

Elisabeth Terland became our leading all-time scorer in the WSL with a stoppage-time winner as Albion claimed their first home win league win of the season.

The Norweigan striker had joined Aileen Whelan on 15 goals when she fired Albion into a 31st-minute lead but the visitors deservedly drew level through Abi Harrison ten minutes into the second half.

Albion were back in front two minutes later through Katie Robinson’s second of the season but Carrie Jones’ equaliser with seven minutes to go was deserved.

But just when it looked as if two points had slipped away, Terland volleyed home in the fifth minute of added time - her 16th WSL goal for the club and ninth of the season.

Katie Robinson scores her second goal of the season to put Albion back in front.

Albion had started brightly and Terland won a foot race with former teammate Megan Connolly in the sixth minute but City keeper Jessica Couey bravely smothered her shot.

On a difficult surface both sides struggled to keep possession and the ball was turned over a lot. Bristol settled and Jamie-Lee Napier’s left-foot volley was only a yard wide and Amy Rogers tried an ambitious effort from 35 yards that wasn’t far away.

Elisabeth Terland makes it 3-2 in stoppage time.

Albion had plenty of possession without threatening too often until Terland took matters into her own hands on 31 minutes. She robbed a defender 30 yards out, took a couple of paces and lashed a low right-foot shot from 20 yards inside Couey’s right-hand post – a finish of a player full of confidence in front of goal.

But Albion didn’t build on it. The visitors were much better at the start of the second half and deservedly levelled on 55 minutes when Abi Harrison, who struck the post moments earlier, lashed a close-range shot into the roof of the net after Albion failed to clear a corner.

Pauline Bremer takes on Naomi Layzell.

Albion’s response was impressive and within a minute they regained the lead. Terland was the provider when she held off two defenders to find the unmarked Robinson in space and she produced a composed finish inside the far post as Couey tried to narrow the angle.

Couey got behind a firmly-struck shot by Maisie Symonds and for a spell Albion looked as if they might add to their lead but with seven minutes to go Bristol City drew level. Ffion Morgan swung in a free kick from the right and although Sophie Baggaley saved Shania Hayles’ shot, Carrie Jones reacted quickest to fire the loose ball into the roof of the net.

But Albion came on strong in stoppage time and two of their substitutes combined to set up the winner when Geummin Lee flicked on Vea Sarri's left-wing cross and Terland's shot from close range went in off the underside of the bar.
