Dani Bowman has returned to the club.

We are delighted to announce that former captain Danielle Bowman has been appointed assistant head coach for our women’s U19 squad, following a thorough external recruitment process.

Danielle brings an impressive range of experience having previously played for Arsenal, Chelsea, Notts County and Albion.

She made 66 appearances including 59 starts for the club between 2018-22, scoring three goals.

The 35-year-old also possesses a vast depth of coaching knowledge having achieved her UEFA A Licence and coached in the WSL with West Ham United last season.

Danielle Bowman captained Albion during four seasons as a player.

Women’s U19 head coach Sinead Hogan-Belcher said, “We are thrilled that Dani has returned to the club in a coaching capacity.

“Her experience of playing at the highest level will act as an inspiration for our young players and the knowledge she has gained in her previous coaching roles will be invaluable.

“Our WU19 players and staff are extremely excited to work with Dani and I wish her the best of luck as she continues her journey at Brighton.”

Girls’ academy manager Jeremy Sauer said, “The girls academy is continuing to professionalise and we’re now embarking on a new and exciting next chapter in developing players for our first team. The standard of WSL football continues to rise so being able to bring in a coach of Dani’s calibre and experience will be invaluable in providing our young players with a first-hand insight into what it takes to reach the top.

“As the former captain of our club, and with her international experience, she will be able to connect our U19s to the club’s values and help us realise our ambitions.

“We hope her arrival sends another signal to talented players that Brighton & Hove Albion is serious about developing professional footballers for the top of the female game. We’re all very excited to welcome her back to the club.”
