Elisabeth Terland scored in our last home game against Manchester United.

Elisabeth Terland says putting the team before any personal achievements is her priority this season.

The Norwegian forward has scored six goals in all competitions including five in the WSL, only Spurs’ Martha Thomas has scored more league goals (6).

But helping build on impressive results, which have seen Albion pick up four points from our last two games, is all the 22-year-old cares about going into Sunday’s home match with Arsenal.

“Not a lot has changed in my mindset,” she said. “I’ve always been a player who wants to develop every day. I’m surrounding by a group of players who want to raise standards and that is bigger than anything you do as an individual. I enjoy working with [head coach] Mel [Phillips] and the rest of the staff.

“I like the way they want us to play and I feel I’m benefitting from it, it’s nice to work with this squad and the things we do in training which hopefully makes us perform at the weekend.”

Having beaten Manchester City for the first time last Sunday Albion are looking to do the same against the Gunners at Broadfield Stadium.

Phillips and Terland's Arsenal press conference

“There is a belief now that the things we’re working on will 100% make us better players and a better team – that’s the most important thing. We feel we can compete in every game," she added.

But what about finishing as top scorer in the league? “I’m not really thinking about that," she added. "My focus is on Sunday’s game and how I can help the team win the game.”
