It continued a fine start to the Premier League season for De Zerbi’s team, who have now won four of their opening five league matches and sit fifth in the table.
Speaking after the game, Roberto said, "We deserved to win, it was a good performance. In the first 15-20 minutes we suffered a lot. Manchester United played in a different way to how we prepared but after that we played a great game.
"The game changed when we kept the ball better and helped us control the game. We also had three attackers who were very quick, and we kept our style. We scored three goals but we had many other chances to score.
"I’m really proud of the substitutes too. Joao Pedro, [Billy] Gilmour, [Evan] Ferguson and Ansu Fati improved us. They gave us the energy to attack – and defend.
"I’m very lucky to coach this team, it’s like a dream. I’m proud to watch my team play with this quality, it's an honour.”
