Joao Pedro dedicated his goal against Manchester United to Julio Enciso.
Our Brazilian forward beautifully side-footed home our third – and his second of the season – in the 3-1 win at Old Trafford on Saturday.
“Me and Julio are always together at the training ground and I was sad when he got injured,” Joao said.
“He said to me, ‘Joao, next time you score, can you dedicate your celebration to me?’ So I scored and I remembered him asking, so I made sure I did it.
After the game Julio texted me. ‘Thank you bro! You are top, when I am back from injury we can enjoy these moments together,’ and I know we will soon.”
Joao had only been on the pitch for seven minutes at United before finding the back of the net.

“I saw that T [Tariq Lamptey] had seen me, so I knew he was going to pass to me. I was obviously happy to score. I accidentally ran away from our supporters when I celebrated, it’s difficult to think in the game when you score against a big team!
“My favourite Premier League goal was against Manchester United but for Watford, but the one on Saturday was a great goal.”
