Albion celebrate after an own goal earned them victory over Seville.

As temperatures soared again, another own goal secured a win for Albion as they beat Seville 1-0 in the second pre-season game of their training camp on Saturday.

Mackenzie Hawkesby made her first start followed by Maria Thorisdottir who came on at the break to make her debut in an Albion shirt.

Elisabeth Terland and Pauline Bremer made threatening runs during the first half as they looked for the lead. This early pressure led to Albion opening the scoring in first five minutes from an own goal.

Katie Startup, Guro Bergsvand and Charlie Rule made good blocks to deny the hosts an equaliser as the defence stood firm to protect their lead and clean sheet.

Phillips said, "There are a lot of good outcomes to come from it, I think the game ebbed and flowed throughout the first half but some of the things that we wanted to improve on from the last game came across.

"There are a lot of positives to take from it, we wanted to create some more opportunities in the final third but these things will come as we go in pre-season.

"We're more focussed on the performances and key game objectives than results. Of course, we're happy to come away with some successful results and see some of the hard work pay off during the ten days.

Maria Thorisdottir made her Albion debut against Seville.

"I thought Maria (Thorisdottir) was excellent. You could see her experience and leadership, and how that really supported the defence. It's only the beginning for her, she's come back from injury and been out for some time but I'm looking forward to see what else is to come from her.

"It's been a long week and we've taken a lot from it. We're looking forward to getting back to Brighton and preparing for two more friendlies and more training before the start of the season."
