Phillips unveils new backroom team

‘It’s an incredibly exciting chapter’ says head coach

Phillips ready for new WSL season.

Women's first-team head coach Melissa Phillips has unveiled some new additions to her backroom team as the players prepare to return to pre-season training ahead of the new WSL season. 

Phillips, who is embarking on her first full season in charge, said, “This is an incredibly exciting chapter for the women's first team.

“We have a group of positive individuals who are committed to helping this squad develop and achieve our long-term goals and aspirations.

"We want to create and maintain a high performing culture and environment within this group of talented players at the club. 

"It's key that we build on the foundations that have already been set as we continue to work towards the club's overall ambition in the seasons ahead. I strongly believe we are on the right track to achieve that.”

Nikita Runnacles.

Nikita Runnacles has joined the coaching staff as lead goalkeeping coach.

Nikita previously worked at London City Lionesses for three seasons alongside Melissa Phillips whilst also coaching at the England Youth National Team Pathway.

Perry Northeast.

Perry Northeast has become first team coach role on a permanent basis. 

Perry was formally technical manager for the Girls Academy before assisting Amy Merricks last season as interim assistant coach for two spells.

Gallagher appointed Recruitment Manager.

Edward Gallagher joined the club earlier this as the new Player Recruitment Manager.

Edward has over ten years of experience in the women's game having previously worked at Glasgow Rangers, Aland United in Finland, University of California Santa Cruz, Glasgow Celtic, London City Lionesses and with the Scottish FA.

Bone joins Filmer in analyst team.

Sophie Bone has joined Edward Filmer in the analysis team as performance analyst.

She also worked at London City Lionesses for three seasons as Lead Performance Analyst after completing her Masters at Southampton FC.

She was also involved in World Cup and European Championship with the England Amputee National Team and worked in the National League with Woking for a short spell.
