Simon Adingra signed for Albion at the beginning of the 2022/23 season, before joining RUSG on loan.

Simon Adingra has been a vital part of Union Saint-Gilloise's success this season.

Brighton signed the 21-year-old from Danish team FC Nordsjaelland last summer before loaning him out to the Belgian side and he scored 15 goals and bagged 15 assists in 51 appearances, including in their final-day 3-1 defeat Club Brugge.

Naturally, that has led to comparisons with Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma, who spent the 2021/22 season at Union.

While it remains to be seen if the Ivorian, who helped his side reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League and finish second in the table, can replicate the 26-year-old's success in the Premier League - Adingra also has an X-factor about him.

Thomas Cami, a Union reporter for Nieuwsbladsport, said, “He [Adingra] has had a big impact. He has played as a left wing-back in the 3-5-2 system but in the last couple of games he has played as a striker as well. He is only 21 but his statistics are very good. He has a big future.

“He has made some progress since the start of the season, he has improved and mixed up his dribbling and his finishing is decent.

"Naturally, the comparison with Mitoma has been made and the Union fans love Adingra, he makes a difference.”
