Brighton and Hove Albion Blind FC have brought the league title back to Sussex after a successful campaign.
The Albion blind team finished in first place in the National Blind Football League after a dominant league season.
Albion won the league by a huge margin of 16 points, rounding off the season with a fine 2-1 victory over Merseyside.
Phil Broom, head of disability football at Albion in the Community, was proud to see the Albion take home the trophy.
He said, “The team have been unbelievable this year, showing the quality needed to win matches and the mental strength to do it over a whole season.
“I’m so proud of all of them and they fully deserve to win this trophy.”
In securing the league title, the Seagulls marked the end of a very successful year for the side.
Last June, the Albion played live on BT Sport at St George’s Park for the FA Disability Cup Final.
After a successful league season, the side also finished third place in the Brian Aarons Cup last month, after beating West Bromwich Albion 3-1 in the 3rd place playoff.
There were individual awards to go around too; young striker Efe Shimwell bagged both the Golden Boot and the Most Improved Player awards, while Liam Archer was chosen for the Paul Leversuch Fair Play Award.
