Hinshelwood named in England men's under-18s squad

Young midfielder made Premier League debut on final day of campaign at Villa Park.

Jack Hinshelwood came on against Aston Villa for his Premier League debut.

Albion midfielder Jack Hinshelwood is included in the England men's under-18s squad, who will round off their season with a trip to Portugal this week for three games at the International Tournament of Lisbon.

The Young Lions will take on Norway, Australia and Portugal and head coach Neil Ryan has named a 23-man squad for the trip.

Hinshelwood made his Premier League debut as a substitute in the final game of the season against Aston Villa.

England’s first game will be on Friday 9 June against Norway (11am BST), before they tackle Australia on Sunday 11 June (11am BST) and then the host nation Portugal on Tuesday 13 June (5pm BST).

It will be the final games at MU18 level for this squad who have played six games over the course of the season, starting last September in Pinatar, Spain before they played three games in Croatia in March.

During the season, they won five games against Netherlands, Faroe Islands, Belgium, Croatia and Switzerland and only suffered one defeat in their second encounter against Belgium in March.

Next season, this year group will form the MU19s squad who will be involved in the UEFA U19 EURO Championship with the first qualifying round for that competition scheduled for October.
