Danny Welbeck celebrates one of his seven goals this season in the 6-0 win over Wolves.

Danny Welbeck can’t wait to play his part in Albion’s Europa League adventure.

The 32-year-old has appeared at World Cup finals and played in the Champions League during his storied career but says playing in Europe with Albion for the first time in the club’s history will be an ‘unbelievable’ achievement.

“I arrived three years ago and since then we’ve improved in every season. To get into Europe is an amazing achievement, unbelievable and unreal," he said.

“It was a great feeling when we got over the line against Manchester City last week and a massive achievement. I have played in some great teams and in some great tournaments but to get Brighton into Europe and be part of this amazing club and bring so much joy to the fans and everyone at the club makes me so proud.”

Danny Welbeck scored six Premier League goals including this header against Brentford.

The 32-year-old made 33 appearances this season including his 300th in the Premier League, more than in his previous two campaigns, and scored seven goals in all competitions.

“Fitness-wise it’s been big for me to get the games in and be on the pitch and available, I feel good," he added.

"We’re all looking forward to a rest now, but I can’t wait for more next season.”
