Roberto De Zerbi is preparing for the first of five games in 15 days at Arsenal on Sunday.

Roberto De Zerbi says some of the players in our academy could have a role to play in the push for European football.

Four players produced by the academy – Evan Ferguson, Jeremy Sarmiento, Odel Offiah and Andrew Moran – have all been given Premier League minutes this season while Cam Peupion, who was named PL2 player of the month on Friday, was on the bench for the win over Manchester United last week.

Albion’s head coach will be without Solly March, Adam Lallana, Sarmiento and Adam Webster against title-chasing Arsenal on Sunday and De Zerbi thinks that there could be further opportunities for our youngsters as we prepare to play five games in 15 days between now and the end of the season.

De Zerbi's Arsenal press conference

Asked about whether Peupion might get an opportunity, the head coach said, “He is a young player so we will see.

“We will play without Solly I think for the last five games but we have Ferguson, [Danny] Welbeck, [Deniz] Undav, [Julio] Enciso, Facundo Buonanotte and [Kaoru] Mitoma.

“But the young players can be important – Cam, Odel, Moran. I am lucky because the academy of Brighton is top and I can take some players for the games and for the training sessions.”
