Alexis Mac Allister showed a calm head to score from the penalty spot in the last minute of normal time.

Alexis Mac Allister felt Albion deserved more after sharing six goals with Brentford in a thriller at the Amex.

The midfielder converted a late penalty as Albion came from behind three times with Kaoru Mitoma and Danny Welbeck also on target.

“For the neutrals it was good, for us we’re not happy,” said Mac Allister. “We did everything to try and win but it’s football, sometimes you don’t get what you deserve.

Mac Allister: I was nervous but knew I'd score!

"We have to learn from the game. We made mistakes and they scored three goals but the resilience we showed was good, we dug in and it might be an important result if we are going to play in Europe.”

Mac Allister admitted to nerves when he stepped up to take the penalty but he kept his cool to beat David Raya, who had frustrated Albion with some fine saves.

“I’m always nervous when I take a penalty, but I was confident I was going to score. It was nice to come back three times but we wanted more.”
