Haydon Roberts now has two goals this season for Derby.

Haydon Roberts scored for Derby in some style on Saturday but it wasn’t enough for the Rams to secure all three points against Shrewsbury.

Conor Hourihane teed the young defender up to fire in from the edge of the box to make it 1-0, before David McGoldrick netted his 19th of the campaign to double their advantage.

Two second half goals from the Shrews ensured the spoils were shared but Paul Warne’s team maintained their place in the play-off spots.

Simon Adingra fired home Royale Union Saint-Gilloise’s opening goal with a stunning curling effort in their 2-1 win over KAS Eupen. Staying in Belgium, Steven Alzate played the full 90 minutes in Standard Liege’s 1-0 win over KVC Westerlo, while in the Belgian second tier Antef Tsoungui enjoyed his first win and clean sheet with Lommel as they beat FCV Dender 1-0.

In Germany, Fortuna Dusseldorf’s Michal Karbownik made his first start after a short spell on the sidelines with injury, playing 65 minutes in a 1-0 victory over Jahn Regensburg. In the Netherlands, it wasn’t such a productive day for Kjell Scherpen and Kacper Kozlowski as their Vitesse Arnhem side were beaten 1-0 by AZ Alkmaar.

In the Swiss League, Andi Zeqiri helped Basel to a 1-0 victory over Luzern while Abdallah Sima’s Angers lost 5-0 to Montpellier in France.

Slightly closer to home, James Furlong continues to play a part in Motherwell’s resurgence – a 2-0 win over Ross County made it four matches unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership for the Well, as they put daylight between themselves and the relegation zone.

In the EFL, Carl Rushworth kept his 13th clean sheet of the season as Lincoln City beat managerless Oxford United 1-0, while fellow goalkeeper James Beadle conceded late on for Crewe in their 1-1 draw with Sutton United, after the Railwaymen had been down to ten men for the last 30 minutes.

Reda Khadra was back in the action for Birmingham City after injury and came on in the second half as the Blues drew 1-1 with Wigan in the Championship.

Jensen Weir’s Morecambe drew 0-0 with high-flying Bolton Wanders as the Shrimps stayed within touching distance of safety in League One, while in League Two, Ed Turns’s Leyton Orient edged closer to automatic promotion with a 1-1 draw with Swindon Town.

Marc Leonard’s Northampton Town beat Crawley Town 1-0, despite the Cobblers having Aaron McGowan sent off in somewhat strange circumstances. Jack Spong was an unused sub for Crawley.
