Facundo Buonanotte joined us in January on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Lewis Dunk was delighted to celebrate his 400th appearance with an assist in our FA Cup win over Stoke City.

The skipper played the pass for Kaoru Mitoma to set up Evan Ferguson in the 1-0 win and was impressed with the Japanese winger and Facundo Buonanotte, who made his first start.

“Kaoru has got blistering pace and we are trying to get a better understanding of his timing of runs and that one came off against Stoke,” Dunky said. “Hopefully I can give him many more of those passes!

“He is such a threat and a danger when he runs in behind and it shows how unselfish he was by squaring it to Evan [Ferguson] for the goal.

Lewis Dunk has been more than happy with Kaoru Mitoma's impact.

"I have had that [passing] ability in me. Obviously, with different managers, they have different styles of playing and beliefs but the older and wiser you get the more you can bring it out.

“I am a defender first and foremost but I have always been confident with the ball at my feet."

Argentina under-20 international Buonanotte came on as a substitute in our Premier League matches against Bournemouth and Fulham, before being handed his first start against Stoke.

Lewis added, “I thought Facundo was excellent. Obviously, he has played games back in Argentina in a good league.

“It was not an easy game to come into - they were always going to be tough to face - but he did himself justice.”
