Facundo Buonanotte joined us in January on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Facundo Buonanotte revealed that Alexis Mac Allister’s brother, Francis, said positive things about the club before he moved here.

The 18-year-old played alongside Alexis’s oldest sibling in Argentina at Rosario Central last season.

“Francis just told me it was a really good club to make this big step to Europe,” Facundo said. “He told me they would help me a lot and they would treat me in the best way.

“Alexis and all the South American boys have been helping me settle in. They have treated me very well.

The midfielder came on for the final 15 minutes against Bournemouth.

“When I came on, Roberto told me to play as a double playmaker with Jeremy [Sarmiento] and to enjoy myself. That was the important thing – to just think about playing and enjoying it.”

Buonanotte revealed that his head coach told him the day before that he’d be involved against the Cherries.

“He told me after the training session that I was in the squad and that I had this chance to possibly play. It took me a little bit by surprise but I was very happy.”
