Jens Scheuer says all his players must trust in their strengths as the team prepare to play their third game in seven days on Sunday.

In what has been another busy week for Albion in their return to the WSL following the international break, Scheuer believes his squad will be ready to take on Arsenal if they carry the energy from Wednesday's Conti Cup match against West Ham United into the game.

“It’s our third game in a week but it’s good for me to see the girls in the games," Scheuer said. "We should be well prepared and if we can bring our 100% attitude from Wednesday we have a chance.

“I’m not going into this game to lose it – we want to win it 100% and if we’re good enough we will see on Sunday [if we can]."

Scheuer also spoke about the squad's fifth signing of the January transfer window after they welcomed former Arsenal goalkeeper Lydia Williams.

He added, “We’re glad to have Lydia here to help with our future vision, she gives us a lot of experience at club and international level.

Scheuer and Zigiotti's Arsenal press conference

"However, Megan [Walsh] did well in the cup game and now we will have a fight for number one."

Jens looked towards Sunday's much-anticipated WSL fixture against Jonas Eidevall's side and insisted the squad must be confident and believe in their abilities to achieve a positive result.

“We have to find the balance and keep an eye on the defence, but we also want to create chances. Arsenal have the quality to break us down so we have to find the balance.

"Julia [Zigiotti] said it right - we have to go onto the pitch with self confidence and trust in our strengths. We showed an aggressive style of play on Wednesday, it makes me optimistic that we can show that on Sunday too.

"The girls know what we want to see from them and [I think] we’ve taken a step in the right direction."
