Lewis Dunk hopes to lead Albion out in a European competition before he retires.
We could head into the World Cup break as high as fifth in the Premier League with victory against Aston Villa on Sunday at the Amex, and while the skipper doesn’t want to look too far ahead he sees nothing wrong with having ambitions to play in Europe.
“Hopefully we can play in Europe one day,” he said. “I’m not saying it's going to happen now but in the future I hope it does. Before I leave this club and retire hopefully I can lead the team out in a European game, but we'll see what happens.

“You always want to play in the best competitions, to play at the best level you can to do that before I retire would be incredible. All I can do is try my hardest to make it happen.
“You've got to set yourself targets, goals and dreams and that would be one of them. If we don’t then we have nothing to chase.
“Where the club has come from to now it's made massive strides - and we have many more to make.”
Albion’s six Premier League wins have come from 13 games this season. It needed eight games more to reach the same mark last season.
Dunk puts that down to Albion’s younger players getting to grips with the Premier League.
“We've got quite a young squad and I think the more experience everyone gets in the Premier League the more you learn and it becomes easier for everyone.
“If we're at it in a game we can beat anyone and we believe in ourselves that much. We’re all together and our squad is good enough. If anyone is injured we have people to step in. We’re a confident team and we look to win every week.”
