Alexis Mac Allister says he is delighted to have extended his stay at our “amazing” club.

The 23-year-old has signed a new contract until 2025, with an additional one-year option, and thanked Albion’s staff for all their support since he joined in 2019.

“I’m really happy to have signed this new contract.” said Alexis. “I think it’s an amazing club and I have always felt the support from people inside the club.

“The people who work here are really supportive and the club wants to keep developing. It’s exciting and why I signed a new deal.

“I’m so happy with the club, my teammates and the coaching. Everything here is amazing.”

Alexis Mac Allister made his Albion debut in March 2020 against Wolves.

Alexis originally arrived at Albion from Argenintos Juniors in January 2019, but it was another year until he made his debut and he’s developed rapidly ever since.

He’s now a fan’s favourite and one of the first names on Roberto De Zerbi’s teamsheet, but Alexis says he’s come a long way since signing his first contract with the club.

“A lot has changed for me since I first arrived.” said the Argentine. “I feel like a much better player and a better human being – that’s the most important thing.

“My teammates have been amazing ever since my first day. Dunky, Adam Lallana, Steeley – these are just some of the people who have helped me a lot. I’m really grateful for their support.

“I’m also very settled here now. Brighton is a really nice place, it’s very quiet and the people are very kind. My family loves coming here. We’re settled and love living in the city. I’m happy I’ll be here for longer.”

Mac Allister has thanked captain Lewis Dunk for his support.

Settling off the pitch is important for any player, but the support they get on the pitch is just as vital and alongside teammates and staff, Alexis wanted to thank Albion’s supporters.

He said, “I am so grateful to the fans. They are amazing every time we play, whether we are at home or away.

“I want to say thank you very much for the support they’ve shown me, I’ve felt it every day I’ve been here. We will all try to get a win [against Chelsea] on Saturday for them.”
