Brighton & Hove Albion Blind FC have made quite the splash so far this season.

The Seagulls are currently sitting pretty at the top of the National Blind Football League, having won all eight of their first eight league fixtures this season.

Last weekend was a historic occasion for the side – it marked the first time they have played a competitive league fixture at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre.

Albion’s league success comes off the back of a fantastic cup achievement last June, with the side finishing as runners-up in the FA Blind Cup Final at St George’s Park.

That clearly hasn’t put a halt to their momentum, however – Albion resumed their campaign last weekend with back-to-back 3-0 victories.

They welcomed RNC Hereford and Merseyside to the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre in Lancing, where they each played in two rounds of fixtures.

Brandon Coleman bagged himself four goals over the two matches, while Efe Shimwell and Hamid Zadeh also got in on the act.

It was also a big occasion for Kaitlyn Clark, who made her league debut for the first team.

AITC disability manager Paul Brackley was very pleased with his team’s performance.

“We’ve had a very strong season so far, I couldn’t really ask for much more.

“Obviously everyone’s very happy at how things are going at the moment. It was a great moment for us to host league fixtures at the training ground too, that was really special.”

The development squad was also in action at the weekend – they finished with a 3-1 win and a 0-0 draw against Hereford and Merseyside’s development squads.

Hamid earned himself a match ball with a hat-trick in the 3-1 victory, and goalkeeper Luke Pentecost secured the 0-0 draw with a big clean sheet.
