Deniz Undav made his fourth Premier League appearance of the season in the defeat to Brentford.

Deniz Undav believes the goals will return despite Albion drawing a blank in their last two Premier League outings.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side created a host of chances against Spurs a week ago and Brentford on Friday night, but couldn’t find the back of the net from a combined 35 shots over the two fixtures.

That misfortune in front of goal means Albion have now lost back-to-back Premier League matches for the first time since March, but Undav is confident his team will rediscover their goalscoring form soon.

PL Highlights: Brentford 2 Albion 0

“We had the possibility to score goals against Spurs and Brentford. We just need to be more efficient when we get the chances,” said the German.

“It’s encouraging that we are creating opportunities and I’m hopeful we will score in our next game. We will show a good reaction.

“If we took one of our early chances against Brentford, I think we would have won the game. We were the better team with a lot more possession, but they took their chances and that shows how important it is to be efficient.

“It was frustrating not to get a goal and lose, but that’s the Premier League and sometimes moments like this happen. You can’t score every game, there is no need to panic.

“The first thing we need to do as a team is keep a clean sheet and then when we get chances, we need to take them – and I’m sure we will start taking them soon.”

De Zerbi on Brentford defeat

Undav played the best part of half an hour against the Bees in his longest cameo yet for Albion, and the 26-year-old striker says he is settling in well since arriving from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

“Brighton is really nice. I love the city and the sea.” said Undav. “Everyone in the team has welcomed me in well and I feel comfortable.

“I’m enjoying my life here and I am trying to be ready every game. I’m working hard in training and am in good condition.

“When I get my chances in the team, I need to be ready. The Premier League is tough but I’m feeling strong and I’m ready to help my teammates whenever I’m needed.”
