Should Lucy Bronze play on Tuesday night, she will win her 100th cap for England.

England head coach Sarina Wiegman is looking forward to making more happy memories at the Brighton Community Stadium when she returns with the Lionesses tonight.

England won both games during the WEUROS in the summer in Brighton, beating Norway 8-0 in the group stages before a 2-1 extra-time victory over Spain in the quarter-finals.

They return to face Czech Republic in a friendly (8pm kick-off) which is part of their build-up towards the World Cup finals in New Zealand and Australia next summer. England are unbeaten in all 23 games since Wiegman was appointed.

She said, “There will be a lot of emotions because we had some great nights there in the Euros and it will be really nice to go back.

Sarina Wiegman led England to their Euro 2022 championship victory.

“We have such good memories of Brighton and it’s a very nice part of England.

“It’s a new game and we hope the fans will come again and that we can show up and play a very good game.”

It will be a memorable occasion for Lucy Bronze who will win her 100th cap and her family will be there to watch her landmark appearance.

“My brother is coming from Sheffield with his family. Before the Euros I got an illness from my niece and I missed a game so he’s saying ‘we have to come all the way to Brighton to see you get your 100th cap when it should have been at Wembley [against United States last Friday]!’

“It’s obviously a huge achievement and is something I will probably only look back at the end of my career and think ‘that’s amazing.’

“It’s 100 caps but I want 101, 102, 103, 104… to keep going. A hundred caps wasn’t a goal I had at the start of my career so to have made it is pretty incredible.”
