The draw at Anfield continues the Albion’s improving record against Liverpool — having lost their first six Premier League fixtures against them (by an aggregate scoreline of 16-3), Brighton are now unbeaten in five of their last six against Klopp’s side and have earned points in each of their last three visits to Anfield (2 draws, 1 win).
Saturday was the first time since 1981 that Brighton went into a fixture against Liverpool while above them in the league, with that fixture also finishing 3-3 at the Goldstone Ground, where the Seagulls also drew thanks to a late equaliser.
It was the fifth time in the last 11 Premier League games, stretching back to last season, that Brighton have scored three or more goals in a match (5-2 vs Leicester City, 3-1 vs West Ham, 4-0 vs Manchester United, 3-0 vs Wolves). Yet Liverpool had only conceded more than twice in one game this season and Brighton became the first team to score more than two goals at Anfield since Manchester City in February 2021.
This was the 33rd time in 151 games for Roberto De Zerbi, since the start of the 2018/19 season, where there have been five or more goals in a match involving his team.

Brighton put in a record-breaking attacking display, accurately shooting on target with all six shots. The previous best was a 75% shot accuracy on three occasions (at Crystal Palace in 2018/19, at Watford in 2019/20 and at Southampton in 2020/21). Notably all six efforts were categorised as big chances.
All six of Brighton's shots at Liverpool today were classed as clear cut chances, the highest 100% big chance rate since West Ham recorded 7/7 vs Newcastle in December 2018

This calendar year Brighton are the seventh best team in the Premier League, winning 11, drawing eight and losing eight of 27 games — those 57 points average out at 1.52 per game and are worth over 57 points across a 38-game season.
Leandro Trossard stole the show by becoming the first Brighton player to score a Premier League hat-trick, and only the third visiting player to net three at Anfield.

All three goals were scored with his left-foot and the Belgian now has eight left-footed goals (72 shots worth 8.1xG) plus 14 right-footed goals (111 shots worth 12.2xG) in the competition — his goal against Manchester United at the Amex in May was scored with his chest, with Trossard (23) just three goals away from Brighton’s record number of Premier League goals (Neal Maupay and Glenn Murray tied on 26).
But it was a team display that ensured Albion left Merseyside with a point, as Brighton recorded their best team totals, for a single game this Premier League season, in terms of tackles and interceptions combined (41) as well as clearances (30).
Only five teams have scored more than Brighton’s 14 this season; four of those have played a game extra. Understat data also ranks the Seagulls sixth in the league for most xG (13.6), emphasising the quality of attacking creation as well as finishing.
