Albion's finance director Lee Cooper has formally joined the club's main board, Albion in the Community's trustees board and the women’s and girls’ football club board.

Deputy chairman and chief executive Paul Barber said, "Lee has done an excellent job since joining us in June of this year, and we are delighted to welcome him onto the club's board of directors. He will also join the women's and girls’ football club board and trustees board for Albion in the Community.

“Lee came to us with a great deal of experience from his time with West Bromwich Albion, and it's been a pleasure working with him as he has shown first hand his experience and expertise."

Lee studied mathematics at the University of Leicester and qualified as an accountant at a large independent accountancy firm in Birmingham where he gained a wide range of experience before spending six years at West Bromwich Albion, having joined them in 2016. He joined Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this year to lead the finance function.

He said of his first few months and his appointment to the board, “Having always been impressed from afar at how Brighton have operated their business, it has been a real pleasure to get to know my new colleagues and to get to see the whole team in action in recent months.

“Events over the last few weeks have shown just how well prepared and long-term the outlook and decision making is at the club; I look forward to contributing towards the long-term aims of establishing the club as a regular finisher in the top ten of the Premier League and top four of the WSL, as well as championing the amazing work of Albion in the Community.”
