Cam Peupion joined Albion in 2020.

Cameron Peupion has enjoyed a special summer with Albion and wants to continue his impressive form at Everton in Premier League 2 today, kick-off 12pm.

The 19-year-old signed a new two-year contract with us in June, and has since made his first team debut for the club, while continuing to impress in PL2 in what has been an exciting few months for the Australian.

“I’ve been at the club two years now and my dream ever since I arrived was to make my debut and play for the first team,” said Peupion.

“It’s been a really good couple of months for me and I’m in a good place. I’ve just got to keep working hard to make the most of the opportunities I’m being given.”

EFL Cup Highlights: Forest Green 0 Albion 3

Peupion’s first team debut came during our 3-0 victory at Forest Green in the Carabao Cup last month, with the winger joining a host of his under-21s teammates on the pitch before grabbing a late assist.

“The surprise of getting called into the senior squad and then realising I was on the bench all happened pretty quickly. I was buzzing to just be involved, but getting the nod to actually come on was an amazing feeling.

“I was super happy to get the minutes I got and to make my debut, and it was brilliant getting an assist for what was a bit of an academy goal.

“There was a lot of us involved and that made it even more special. Coming on and seeing some familiar faces like Jack (Spong), Evan (Ferguson) and James (Furlong) made it easier to play my natural game, and then for us all to link up for Evan’s goal was nice.”

Ferguson’s goal against Forest Green was the Irishman’s first in senior football, but the striker scored a superb hat-trick last time out in PL2 against Leicester, and Peupion believes the team can build on that 4-1 victory.

Evan Ferguson thanks Cam Peupion for the assist for his first professional goal.

“We started the season playing well but probably didn’t get the results we deserved, but we’re getting better and better and the last two games have shown that.

“We got a good point against Arsenal and then three big points against Leicester, where we dominated the whole game and played really well.

“When you win like that it gives you a lot of confidence. The squad is in a really good place right now and we want to keep pushing on, starting against Everton.”
