Levi Colwill made his second appearance off the bench in the win over Leeds.

Levi Colwill says it’s “amazing” to be at Albion and playing in the Premier League after he put in another solid cameo during our win against Leeds.

The 19-year-old made his second top-flight appearance for the club on Saturday and helped preserve our third clean sheet in four league games after coming on with ten minutes remaining.

It’s been an encouraging start to life in the Premier League for the Chelsea loanee, who is loving every second and thankful for the support he’s received.

“It’s amazing being at the Premier League and at Brighton, I can’t complain one bit.” said Colwill. It’s a dream and it’s thanks to the team and the gaffer. Everyone has helped me settle in, I can’t say one bad word about anyone. They’ve welcomed me into the group and are always there if I need anything – I already feel comfortable going to them.”

Colwill’s chance in the Premier League was earned following his impressive spell on loan at Huddersfield last season, where he was an integral part of the squad who shocked many to reach the Championship play-off final.

He was one of the standout performers across the second-tier last term, but the defender is already noticing what a huge step up the Premier League is.

“It’s a big jump from the Championship.” said Colwill. “You see the standards in training every day, everyone in our squad is such a good player and you come up against better players too. It means I’ve got to be better and level up.

“You can’t make mistakes. If you make one, you can be punished so easily and that’s a gamechanger. You’ve always got to be switched on, you can’t turn off for a second - that’s the level we’re at. This is my biggest learning curve so far, but I’m enjoying it. Now I’m ready to keep kicking on and hopefully play good football.”
