Graham Potter confirmed he will only be without Jakub Moder for our Premier League opener.

Albion begin their 2022/23 Premier League campaign this Sunday as they face Manchester United at Old Trafford, kick-off 2pm.

Graham Potter’s team head into the fixture off the back of a 5-1 win over Espanyol in last Saturday’s pre-season friendly, with Leandro Trossard taking plaudits after netting a hat-trick.

The Belgian winger will be hoping to maintain his goalscoring form going into the weekend, against a team whom Albion enjoyed one of their best Premier League victories wins last May.

Trossard rounded off the scoring in a 4-0 rout of United at the Amex, but a lot has changed for Sunday’s hosts since that encounter.

Erik ten Hag has taken charge following Ralf Rangnick’s departure at the end of last season and the former Ajax coach has bolstered his ranks with some impressive signings.

Christian Eriksen has joined on a three-year contract, while ten Hag has brought in Lisandro Martinez from his former club.

Feyenoord full-back Tyrell Malacia has also joined, although United must contend with the departures of Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard.

Team news

Jakub Moder is a long-term absentee for Albion, but Graham Potter confirmed he will have no other absentees for Sunday's trip up north, and will have a fully fit squad to choose from.

Luke Shaw has been back in training for United after missing their recent friendlies against Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, while Jadon Sancho is expected to overcome illness in time for the game.

Our last meeting

An afternoon to remember for Albion, as Moises Caicedo’s opener midway through the first half was just the aperitif on a stunning afternoon. Marc Cucurella, Pascal Gross and Trossard added goals after the break to secure Albion’s best Premier League win at the Amex.

United player to watch

Donny van de Beek could be set for his breakthrough season in a Manchester United shirt this season, after Erik ten Hag gave the Netherlands international more minutes than any other player in pre-season. Cristiano Ronaldo was United’s top scorer last season, and found the back of the net 24 times in 38 appearances in all competitions.
