Poppy Pattinson joined us last week on a two-year contract.

Our latest recruit Poppy Pattinson reckons Albion’s training facilities are the best she’s seen in the women’s game.

The 22-year-old said they played a big part in her deciding to join us, having signed a two-year deal earlier this week.

“It’s a huge pull. When we came to visit the training facilities, I couldn’t believe how good they are.

“The women’s game has grown so much and there’s some fantastic facilities, but this is the best I have seen and I can’t wait to get to work here.”

The former Sunderland, Manchester City and England youth international is equally excited to work with first team manager Hope Powell.

“It’s an amazing feeling to know she wants me here, she’s a legend of the women’s game. I look up to her, she’s done a lot for the game and I can’t wait to work alongside her.

“I’ve got a lot of good experiences behind me and a lot of different ones – hopefully I can bring them here and keep learning.

“I want to develop as a player and a person here and achieve individual goals as well as team ones.”

Poppy Pattinson spent the last two years with Everton.

With the focus now on the new campaign, the defender doesn’t want to put a ceiling on what we can achieve.

“We can achieve anything we want to. You can only achieve what you believe in and, if we have that mindset, then the team can go far.

“We’ve got to show quality on the pitch, the fight and the mindset, as well as build on what the club has already achieved in the WSL.”
