Poppy Pattinson becomes Albion women's team's first signing of the summer transfer window.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of defender Poppy Pattinson, who has signed a two-year contract.

Pattinson, 22, has joined after two years with Everton, having previously played for Sunderland, Manchester City and Bristol City.

The left-back has also represented England at youth level and for the under-21s.

Women’s first-team manager Hope Powell said, “Poppy is a really exciting signing for us and we’re delighted to welcome her to the club.

"She has a lot of WSL experience despite only being 22 which is a testament to the quality she has.

“Poppy has good international experience as well with the England youth set-up, and we’re excited to work with her. She wants to get even better as a player and we can help her do that.”

Albion's newest arrival said the ambitions Hope has shown were a key factor in signing.

“I am really pleased to be here, excited to get going and delighted to finally get the pen on the dotted line.

“From the first conversation with Hope, I knew it was the right place to be. I think she sees the potential I have and that matches my own ambitions.

“The club has big aims and I want to help them achieve them.”

Poppy was a regular for the Toffees last season, making 23 appearances in all competitions.
