Alexis Mac Allister is confident that he is now up to the standard of the Premier League after a coming-of-age campaign in the top-flight.
The Argentina international started all but one of our league games from Boxing Day onwards, becoming an integral part of the Albion midfield.
“It has been the best season of my career and I have improved on a lot of things, as a human being and as a footballer," Mac Allister said. "It was a fantastic season for me and for the club, that was really important.
“I feel like a Premier League player now. But I always want to improve, I will keep working hard because it’s very important for me.
“I worked a lot on the physical aspect in the first year and today I feel a lot stronger – that’s really important to play in England I have found.”
The 23-year-old started in memorable wins over Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United, but says his brace at Everton was his best memory of the campaign.
“The game at Goodison Park was a really important moment for me, it was fantastic. I scored two important goals, the fans were amazing that day as well. I loved it, it was a really good day.”
Graham Potter has also used Alexis in different positions, switching between a role in behind the strikers and sitting at the base of midfield.
“I always try to adapt to different positions and when the gaffer wants me to play deeper or as a ten, I want to be at my best.
“In the second half against West Ham on the last day I played as a six, to try and help us get the ball forward. I feel comfortable there and I like being on the ball a lot, that’s a good position for me. I think that showed in the end as we won the game.”
