Trio called up to England youth teams

England under-21s and under-18s duty for three Albion players.

Carl Rushworth, Zak Sturge and James Beadle have been called up by England.

Carl Rushworth, Zak Sturge and James Beadle have been called up to play for England at youth level in the coming weeks.

Rushworth, 20, has been named in the England men’s under-21s squad, while Sturge and Beadle have been called up to the men’s under-18s.

Carl enjoyed a fruitful season on loan with League Two Walsall this season, winning the Players’ Player and Supporters’ Player of the Season awards.

Sturge, 17, will be hoping to add to his two appearances for England under-18s, having made his debut in September 2021.

Beadle, 17, joined us from Charlton Athletic in January and made his debut for England under-18s in November 2021.

The Three Lions under-18s are in tournament action, as they face Austria, Wales and Croatia in Zagreb.

The under-21s have UEFA Championship qualifiers, as they take on the Czech Republic, Albania, Kosovo and Slovenia.
