Goalkeeper Megan Walsh picked up two prestigious awards as her brilliant form in the Women’s Super League was recognised at the Players’ Awards at the Amex on Monday.

The Republic of Ireland international picked up both the Player of the Season, sponsored by Fileder Filter Systems, and Players’ Player of the Season, sponsored by SnickersUK.com, at the ceremony which was attended by 400 players, guests and sponsors.

Walsh’s consistent form earned her a first international call-up and she missed just two of Albion’s WSL matches.

Megan said, "I'm really honoured to win these two awards. I'm thankful for the support of my team-mates on and off the pitch and I think the awards recognise the hard work everyone puts in. It's been great to have the fans back as well, they give us the energy to push on."

The Women’s Young Player of the Season, sponsored by SYH Properties, was awarded to defender Maya Le Tissier, who was an ever present throughout the WSL season. The 20-year-old was also a regular in the England under-21s squad.
