Victoria Williams is Albion's club captain this campaign.

Maya Le Tissier reckons Albion captain Victoria Williams doesn’t get the credit she deserves.

“As a leader, Trev (Williams’s nickname) is the person I look up to the most, she doesn’t get enough credit for the way she looks after the team, she’s a fantastic leader on and off the pitch.

“She does a lot of the dirty work and that makes the rest of the team look good. She’s the glue that holds the team together, she’s a big player for us.

Maya Le Tissier recently became the record holder for the most WSL appearances made by a teenager.

“But all the girls bring something to the table. Even if opponents do something I am impressed by I try and take something from them.”

The 20-year-old says she has still got a lot of improvements to make in her own game too.

“I like to draw on the experiences of the players who have been in the game for a long time, but I have played a lot of games so I am one of the more experienced ones.

“But at the same time I still feel young. I am proud of what I have done, but I don’t reflect on it too much. I just focus on the future and the next game."

Victoria Williams is a leader on and off the pitch, according to Le Tissier.

Albion will look to beat their record WSL points tally today when they take on Birmingham City at the People’s Pension Stadium, kick-off 2pm.

“At the start of the season we were near the top of the league. To finish sixth or even higher, that has to be the target," added Le Tissier.

“We want to better the points tally, even if it’s by a point or two, because that shows progress. Even if we match last season’s points tally, I would say that’s a bigger achievement.”

Tickets are still available for today’s clash, which you can buy here.
