Maya Le Tissier says Albion have got to learn to deal with the pressure of being the favourites, as they prepare to face Birmingham City this Saturday.
The Blues are seven points adrift at the bottom of the table with four games left to salvage their top-tier status, while Albion sit in sixth spot.
While points have been tough to come by for Birmingham, Le Tissier doesn’t want to see any complacency from her team.
“If we beat Birmingham they’d be in a really difficult position to try and stay in the league, but it’s exactly the sort of game we need to be careful about,” she said.

“We have shown we can deal with this sort of pressure before. Last season we faced Bristol City and won, which relegated them. That shows we can deal with the pressure of being expected to win.
“As a team we’re still in a position that when we play the bigger teams there’s not really any pressure or expectation on us to win.
“It’s a completely different feeling going into a game where people are expecting a top performance from you.
“That’s where we’ve got to improve, the top teams deal with that pressure, but there’s been occasions where we’ve taken our foot off the pedal.”
With three games to play, Albion are just two points short of their record WSL points tally of 27.
“We’ve got three games left and we want to win all of them. We only want to outdo ourselves, there’s no point comparing us to other teams.
“It is not easy to consistently get points on the board in the WSL, I feel we have made a big step this year.”
