Moises Caicedo would relish more opportunities in the Premier League after the ‘incredible’ experience of making his debut against Arsenal.

The 20-year-old Ecuador international made an important contribution to the 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates, including an assist for the second goal from Enock Mwepu.

“To play in the Premier League in such an atmosphere was incredible for me, I felt really good,” he said. “It was my dream to play in the Premier League and now I want to play every week, against good players and teams like Man City, Man United and Arsenal.”

Head coach Graham Potter was delighted with Caicedo’s contribution and praised the midfielder’s patience since he returned to the club in January after a loan spell in Belgium with Beerschot.

Graham Potter was delighted with Moises Caicedo's debut.

“When he came back from his loan we were actually doing quite well. Our results were positive,” said Potter. “It’s not so easy to come from Belgium and into the team and wait for the right opportunity, then we started to lose so again it’s not necessarily the right time to put him in.

“He has had to be patient. But he had some really positive experiences with his national team last month and I felt we had to be strong in midfield against Arsenal. He is young player with huge potential.

“I am delighted for him he was able to get the game time and show what he can do because there is no doubt he is going to be a top player.”

Saturday’s win continued Albion’s unbeaten record on visits to the capital this season. They have beaten the Gunners and Brentford and drawn with Crystal Palace, West Ham and Chelsea. On Saturday they visit Tottenham Hotspur.
