Steve Gritt led Albion to safety during the 1996/97 season.

The 1996/97 season, when Albion stayed in the Football League on the final day and played their last game at the Goldstone, was one of the most memorable in the club’s history.

Manager Steve Gritt, who led Albion to safety, and the players will be honoured at a special 25th anniversary dinner on Friday April 22 at the Amex.

The club didn’t hold an awards dinner in 1997 so we’re giving Albion fans a belated opportunity to honour their favourite from that memorable season.

Members of that 1996/97 squad will be joined by a host of other Albion legends including former managers Alan Mullery, Chris Cattlin, Barry Lloyd and Dean Wilkins at the dinner.

Several players spanning the last 50 years of the club’s history will also be there including Russell Bromage, John Byrne, Ian Chapman, John Keeley, Steve Penney, Andy Rollings, John Templeman and Gary Williams as well as former chairman Dick Knight.

The event will be hosted by MyAlbion TV’s Richard Reynolds and will include interviews with those present, as they recall memories of their time at the club.

Tickets cost £45 and include a three-course dinner. Tickets must be purchased by April 14. To book yours click here.
