Megan Walsh has impressed in-between the sticks for Albion so far this season.

Ellie Brazil says Meg Walsh has been ‘absolutely flying’ for Albion in recent weeks.

The recently first-time capped Republic of Ireland international has been in inspired form, and her performances have caught the eye of teammate Brazil.

“We put Megan in these circumstances that as a team we don’t want to put her in, but as a goalkeeper I would imagine she’s enjoying having to pull off brilliant saves! She’s been fantastic and deserves all the credit she’s getting as well as the call up to the Republic of Ireland squad.

“She’s absolutely flying and performing so consistently. The game against Arsenal could have been a lot worse than 3-0 were it not for her, but we’ve got to stay in games and return the favour for the work she’s done by scoring at the other end.

“Whenever other teams do analysis of us you know that she will be one of their key highlights – they have to work out how to beat her, because it’s not easy.

“She’s playing exceptionally well and she’s one of the most modest people you will ever meet, which makes it extra special seeing her enjoying success. She would never boast about it herself.”

Brazil, 23, is keen for Albion to round off the campaign as strongly as possible, with just five games remaining of Albion’s WSL season.

“We’ve been playing really well. Credit to the girls, they put in a real shift against Aston Villa and got a well deserved three points.

Ellie Brazil hopes to see Albion finish the campaign on a high.

“It was frustrating to go in at the break 3-0 down against Arsenal last time out, but it highlighted how much quality they can show in those moments and that’s the level we have to aspire to. We tried our hardest and in the second half the girls put on a fantastic display, we retained the ball better.

“That’s something we will take into the next few games and use it to penetrate teams better. It’s an area we’re working quite hard on this week with West Ham to come on Sunday.”
