Graham Potter is counting on Albion’s fans to make the difference against Tottenham tonight.

Albion host Antonio Conte’s side looking to end a run of five successive Premier League defeats and Potter believes the home crowd will have an important part to play.

“It’s going to be a tough challenge, we’re playing against a very good Tottenham side under a fantastic coach so it’s important that our supporters get behind us and I’m sure they will,” said Potter.

“They were great on Saturday [against Liverpool]. They saw that we kept going until the end against a quality opponent who made it difficult for us.

“We need them with us again tonight. We need to be fighting and we need to be lucky, as you do in any game at this level.”

Graham Potter's Tottenham press conference

Despite their poor run Albion are still five and four points better off with ten games to go than they were in the last two seasons and remain on course to beat their previous top-flight record of 41.

Potter believes performances during that run haven’t been reflected in the points tally and says the players are confident results will soon improve.

“The boys are honest and responsible, they want to change the situation, but they know it’s not easy,” added Potter.

“They know the Premier League is a challenge, but they also know they’re capable of achieving good results.

“The responsibility is mine. I select the team and the tactics so if we’re not getting those results it’s on me. The players give everything, they always do their best and I am pretty sure that if that continues we will get the results we want.”
