Kayleigh Green netted a brace in Albion's last outing - a 4-1 win over Reading.

Kayleigh Green says Albion are targeting a top-half finish as they resume their WSL campaign on Saturday.

The Wales international scored twice last time out when Albion returned to winning ways with a 4-1 victory over Reading.

On Saturday they take on an Aston Villa side who inflicted Albion’s first defeat of the season back in September and who could draw level with them in the table should they do the double.

WSL Highlights: Albion 4 Reading 1

“We know if we perform to the level we’re capable of we can give anyone in the WSL a hard game,” said Green.

“That’s what happened against Reading, and you could see our confidence returning during the game.

“But it’s been three weeks since that game and we’ve only been back together as a squad this week because of the internationals.

“So we need to start again, find those levels we did against Reading and do it on Saturday and then in every game before the end of the season.

“We did it at the start of the season and got ourselves up to third in the table, so we know what we’re capable of as a team but the key is doing it consistently. We want to finish in the top half, that’s our aim.”

The Wales international wants Albion to be looking to finish as high up the WSL as possible.

Green is expecting another difficult 90 minutes against Villa, who won 2-0 at Everton last time out and can field England internationals Hannah Hampton in goal and midfielder Jill Scott, who joined them during January on loan from Manchester City.

“They’ve got some great players and a lot of experience so it will be tough,” she added.

Albion will wear their yellow and blue kit in a show of solidarity for the people of Ukraine, with proceeds from shirt sales being donated to the Red Cross.

“It’s a great gesture by the club and a strong statement of support,” she added. “Everyone is thinking of the people of Ukraine.”
