Adam Webster has captained Albion in their last two Premier League outings.

Adam Webster says he’s not frightened to make mistakes in an Albion shirt.

The 26-year-old has been praised for his style of play this campaign, with former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who tweeted ‘Adam Webster’s passing out from the back, with both feet is better than any other English central defender’ among his admirers.

“Carragher gave me a shout-out before the Palace game, but a lot of it comes from the manager,” Webster said.

“The structure we have for each game allows me to break the lines with passes and everyone is in the right positions. I think last year we struggled a bit where our structure wasn’t right and it didn’t allow us to play the way the gaffer wanted us to.

“It’s just small details that have helped us this season. It can only be a couple of yards different for a midfielder to be a little bit higher or a striker to be a little bit deeper that allows me to find them through the lines.”

Not fearing the wrath of his manager should he get one thing wrong plays a massive part in that according to Webster.

“The way the boss sets us up every week, we know all of our responsibilities and he just gives you that freedom to go out and express yourself.

“I’ve had managers in the past where if you try something, you’re looking over your shoulder to see if they’re screaming and shouting at you but he’s not like that at all.

Webster has made 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

“He gives you that chance to go out and express yourself as soon as you step onto the pitch and that’s all you can ask for as a player.

“I’m happy with where I am and am proving to myself that I can play at this level and my confidence is probably better than it’s ever been right now.”
