It is vital supporters continue to do all they can to minimise the risk of passing on COVID-19.

From our next Premier League game away to Watford on February 12th, fans will no longer be required to show their COVID-19 status on entry at the Amex – but the Premier League is encouraging fans to continue with some COVID measures aimed at limiting the spread.

Premier League clubs today agreed to relax the entry requirements with immediate effect, when attending any Premier League match; and there will be no requirement to demonstrate COVID-19 status for our visit to Tottenham Hotspur in the Emirates FA Cup a week on Saturday.

Deputy chairman and chief executive Paul Barber said, “I thank our supporters for their assistance over the past two seasons in complying with the covid guidelines and requirements when coming to matches at the Amex.

“I also thank our staff for their hard work in implementing the covid regulations. It was thanks to this hard work and extra effort across the club’s workforce – along with the compliance of fans – that we have been able to remain open and at full capacity this season.

“Moving forward it is important we retain a degree of sensibility when coming to the stadium as the onus shifts to individuals to be responsible, and it is important supporters continue to comply with any self-certification requirements and the Premier League’s guidelines going forward.”

The Premier League confirmed the move in a statement issued this afternoon, but did ask fans to follow public health guidance to keep each other safe on a matchday, including wearing face coverings when indoors or in crowded areas.

As COVID-19 restrictions ease, it is vital supporters continue to do all they can to minimise the risk of passing on COVID-19. There are some simple ways fans can help keep each other safe on a matchday:

  • Be responsible and do not travel if you have COVID-19 symptoms
  • Wear face coverings in indoor and crowded areas
  • Continue to regularly wash your hands
  • If possible, take a COVID-19 test on a matchday to check there is no risk of passing on the virus
  • The best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 is to get vaccinated

Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters said, “Fans have shown fantastic support for the measures in place and we thank them for helping keep each other safe and grounds open at full capacity.

“Despite Government restrictions easing, everyone still has a role to play in making sure people feel safe at our matches.  We and our clubs urge supporters to continue to do all they can to follow public health guidance to minimise the risk of passing on COVID-19.”

The Premier League and the club will continue to work with government and local public health authorities to update safety measures in line with the latest guidance.
