Enock Mwepu has made seven Premier League appearances so far this campaign.

Graham Potter has told Enock Mwepu ‘not to be scared to show your qualities.’

The 23-year-old has had a stop-start beginning to life with Albion due to a couple of small injuries, but ahead of tonight’s home game against Wolves he is confident he’s starting to find his feet under the guidance of his head coach.

“The gaffer has been really a great mentor to me,” Mwepu said. “He always speaks to me about what I need to improve and of course he knows my qualities, it’s just that I have had some injuries here and there.

The midfielder scored his first Premier League goal in the 2-2 draw at Liverpool.

“I'm looking forward to being fit and playing regularly and I think with more time I’m going to improve a lot.

“The head coach knows that I can do better and he just wants me to give my best, to not be scared to show my qualities every time. That's the thing that he really wants from me and I'm ready for that.”

Prior to joining the club, Mwepu spoke to former Albion defender Bernardo about joining Graham Potter’s team, after the pair shared a dressing room at Red Bull Salzburg last season.

Bernardo made 50 appearances for Albion.

“Bernardo mentioned the weather because it’s different to Salzburg. In Salzburg it’s really cold and we normally experience snow – which is also not good for me! But I enjoyed it.

“He said here it rains a lot and is windy, so I just had to adapt to that and hopefully it will be good for me.

“For me, I saw it as a challenge because you have to play football in all conditions, and I wanted to show that I can cope with that, especially as I was coming to the Premier League.”
