Danielle Carter wants to use her experiences with Arsenal and England to help continue the progress of Albion’s women’s team.
The striker has a number of domestic titles to her name including the Women’s Super League and FA Cup – she scored the winner in the final in 2016 for Arsenal.
She can also draw on her international career, with four caps to her name.
“I’ve settled in well at Brighton, the biggest thing I have found since I arrived is how together the group are and I think I’ve been able to slot in and add the experience I have for the better.
First goal feels for @DanielleCarter. 🙌

“We have started well, there’s a long way to go and we’ve got a lot more work to do, but we’re on the right track. We just need to fine tune a couple of things.
“I understand there’s more to being one of the senior players than just what you do on the pitch, there’s that role of being a leader amongst the other leaders in the group. I want to help raise standards.”
The 28-year-old spent last season with this Sunday’s opponents Reading, before joining Hope Powell’s team on a two-year contract in the summer.
“I used last year to get back into the swing of things after a long time out with a knee injury – it was good to get back training regularly and playing games. In terms of getting back to what I would say is my best, I think I am on track and on course. There’s still a lot to come, but I am happy with how I am performing.
“Traditionally Reading have always been a tough team to break down, they generally play with a diamond which isn’t something we’re used to playing against, so we need to ensure we know how to counteract the space they can get in midfield.”
