Kaoru Mitoma has received his first call-up to the Japan senior squad for their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.
Samurai Blue face Vietnam in Hanoi on Thursday, before heading to Oman next Tuesday. Mitoma’s call-up was on the back of a fine start to life in European football on loan at Union Saint Gilloise, following his move to Albion during the summer.
In South America, Albion’s Ecuadorian duo Jeremy Sarmiento and Moises Caicedo – the latter of whom is on loan to Belgium side Beerschot – face Venezuela on Thursday, before heading to Chile next Wednesday.
