Graham Potter will make changes for tonight's Carabao Cup tie.

Graham Potter believes whoever he chooses for tonight’s Carabao Cup tie can make his job of picking his next Premier League line-up more difficult.

The head coach has confirmed there will be changes for the fourth-round match against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, with a visit to Liverpool in the Premier League on the horizon on Saturday.

But those who come in should relish the opportunity to press their claims for a regular start in the Premier League, according to the head coach.

Aaron Connolly scored twice in the third-round win over Swansea City

He said, “Anytime the guys get to play is an opportunity to show what you can do. Of course, everybody has an opinion and it is easy to talk but the best way to do it is to let what you do on the pitch speak.

“Until last weekend we were fourth in the Premier League, so clearly the 11 who are playing are doing okay in relative terms, so it is not so easy [to change the team]. You have to wait your chance, be patient, keep working, focus on yourself and make sure that if the opportunity comes that you are ready and you can take it.

“There’s a squad and there’s competition to play because it’s at the highest level. As a player all you can do is not let the coach's decision affect your response.

“Make sure that when you are on the pitch you are doing your best and that you make it difficult for the coach not to play you.”

Potter confirmed that Adam Webster will feature tonight after recovering from a hamstring injury and he’s looking forward to seeing if Aaron Connolly can build on his two goals in the victory over Swansea City in the second round. “We were really pleased with Aaron in the last (cup) game. It was nice for him to get some goals,” added Potter.
