Albion support Take Time To Think campaign

We’re supporting safer gambling alongside our partners Betway

By BHAFC • 26 October 2021

Brighton & Hove Albion are supporting the drive for safer gambling alongside our partners Betway with the Four T’s campaign: Take Time To Think.

What is Take Time To Think?

Take Time To Think aims to eradicate problem gambling across the UK, by detailing the importance of pausing to evaluate whether you should bet, rather than betting through impulse.

Impulse betting is an important issue to tackle when facing problem gambling, and by taking a step back and considering whether to place a bet, we can reduce the chances of risk or harm through betting.

What can I do?

Whether it’s with Betway or another betting provider, there are multiple safer gambling tools that can help you stay safe whilst betting.

Deposit limits: Set a budget of your choosing to keep your spending on bets at a level you are comfortable with.

Session Reminder: Been betting for a while? A session reminder will ensure that you don’t lose track of time.

Know Yourself: Take a short five-minute quiz to better understand yourself and your gambling habits.

If you need some time away from gambling altogether, you can use the Take a Break tool to pause your account, or the Self Exclusion tool to block your account for six months or more.

Where can I find help?

Help is available from impartial and experienced organisations. These people can help because they have been there themselves:

GamBlock: Uses sophisticated analysis that blocks new gambling sites and software: https://www.gamblock.com/

National Gambling Helpline: Offer confidential information and support for anyone in Great Britain.

BeGambleAware: provides information, advice and directs people to support to help keep people safe from gambling harms: www.begambleaware.org.

The Helpline is open 24 hours every day on Freephone 0808 8020 133 or via Live Chat. Advisers will listen to you, they won’t judge and your conversation is confidential: https://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-support/talk-to-us-now/
