Danielle Carter has played in three FA Cup finals and has scored the winner at Wembley on her last appearance there.
And the Albion striker believes she has a chance of returning to the national stadium on 5 December with her new club.
Carter faces her former side Arsenal in Sunday’s semi-final at Boreham Wood. An away game against the unbeaten WSL leaders is the toughest possible draw but the 28-year-old says Albion will approach the game believing they can pull off an upset.
“It’s a one-off game. There aren’t as many upsets as there are in the men’s FA Cup but there will be upsets and we’re looking to pull one off on Sunday,” she said. “We’re underdogs but it’s whoever performs on the day who will win.”
Carter spent 11 years at Arsenal after joining the club in 2009 and scored the winning goal in the 2016 final against Chelsea.
“I still get on really well with the girls there, so it’s going to be an interesting game,” she added. “It’s still an amazing achievement to reach the semi-final but we know we’ve got one step to make more history for the club. We will embrace the occasion, but ultimately we want to win although we know we have a lot of work to do to make that happen.
“Since we got to the semi we’ve all thought that it would be great to get to the final. It should be a dream of every player to play at Wembley and if we’re 100% up for the game, get our tactics right and maybe have a little bit of luck then it could be our day.
“I have been fortunate to win it a few times, so I have fond memories of the competition. I’d love to go back to Wembley with Brighton, it would be such a good day.”
